Hough End Hall Interpretation Boards in Chorlton Park

Unveiling the new interpretation boards about the history of Hough End Hall.

Friends of Hough End Hall held a ceremony on Saturday 6th May 2019 to unveil the three new interpretation boards in Chorlton Park that outline the history of this Tudor mansion. Research was conducted by Andrew Simpson and Peter Topping who also designed the boards. Carolyn Kagan, Chair of the Friends outlined the history of the campaign to make the Hall a public resource and Andrew spoke on the history of the Hall, drawing on the book that he and Peter have produced. The ribbon was cut by Councillor Joanna Midgely.
The video includes the speeches and shots of the boards and the Hall.
Note that Friends of Hough End Hall has no connection with the present owners, Hough End Hall Academy.

Hough End Hall in Beech Rd Park – Sunday

Here’s a cheeky preview (thanks Peter):

Hough End Hall placed in the park

… if a little small (maybe we’ll get a reduction on the price?), it does give an indication of how the Hall deserves better surroundings than the brutalist office blocks of the 1960s.
Anyway come on down on Sunday to the Beech Rd and Chorlton Green Fmly Fun Day, this Sunday (6th July, 2014) from 12-5 and find out more about where we are up to and how you can help.
